My Teacher, Mr. Chen

mrchen.jpg

Mr. Chen was my junior high school teacher who taught Chinese. He was an unique teacher. The most distinctive characteristic of him was that he was always dressed in red. Besides, he has grey hair and he was often holding a teacher’s pointer in his hand.

He set strict rules for our class. For example, we could not put bottles on the table for fear that would mess up the classroom. And we could not stand on the podium without the permission. There were countless similar strict regulations. Mr. Chen was an authoritative teacher at school. But he was so strict that most of my classmates did not like him.

One day in my junior year, he told us the news that he would retire the next month. Instead of cheering, we felt so sad to hear the news. We did not realize his hard work until then. We really did not want him to leave us.

When we were in our senior year, every teacher praised us “you were all well-mannered and behaved well.” To tell the truth, we gave the credit to Mr. Chen.

Until now, Mr. Chen still has a profound influence on the way I act. He is the fact teacher and the one I respect the most.

Life in a Big City

I have lived in a big city since I was born, I have never moved to another place.

The life in a big city is very convenient. There are many convenience stores, supermarkets, fast food restaurants far and near. When you are starving, need not worry about not having anything you want to eat. Likewise, when you want to go shopping with your friends, there are also many shopping malls in big cities. It seems that everything is good in big cities.

However, pollution in big cities is much more serious than in the country, such as water pollution and air pollution. The quality of water in cities is bad. It’s so dirty and even smells awful. Besides, when you walk in downtown, you will feel that it’s foggy. To tell the truth, it’s because the quality of air is too bad. The serious pollution makes people sick.

There are pros and cons to everything. There is no correct answer to whether living in big cities is good or bad. If you live in a big city, do not forget to pay attention to your health in the polluted.
